The Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) is a quarterly advance payment for individuals and families eligible for the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB). It provides a portion of the CWB tax credit throughout the year to support low- and modest-income workers.


ACWB Payment Dates for 2025

Payments for the ACWB in 2025 will be issued on the following dates:

  • January 10, 2025
  • July 11, 2025
  • October 10, 2025

Basic Benefit Maximum Amounts for 2025

The maximum CWB varies depending on marital status and family situation:

  • Single Individuals
    • Maximum Amount: $1,518
    • Reduction Threshold: Begins reducing at an adjusted net income of $24,975.
    • No Payment: For adjusted net incomes exceeding $35,095.
  • Families
    • Maximum Amount: $2,616
    • Reduction Threshold: Begins reducing at an adjusted family net income of $28,494.
    • No Payment: For adjusted family net incomes exceeding $45,934.

Note: Amounts may vary for residents of Quebec, Alberta, and Nunavut.


Disability Supplement Maximum Amounts for 2025

Eligible individuals or families with a disability can also receive the CWB disability supplement:

  • Single Individuals
    • Maximum Amount: $784
    • Reduction Threshold: Begins reducing at an adjusted net income of $35,098.
    • No Payment: For adjusted net incomes exceeding $40,325.
  • Families
    • Maximum Amount: $784 per eligible family member.
    • Reduction Threshold: Begins reducing at an adjusted family net income of $45,932.
    • No Payment: Varies depending on the number of spouses eligible for the disability tax credit:
      • For one eligible spouse: $51,159
      • For both spouses eligible: $56,386

Eligibility Criteria for ACWB

To qualify for ACWB payments, you must:

  1. Be a resident of Canada on the first day of each payment quarter.
  2. Meet the CWB eligibility requirements for the benefit year, including filing an annual tax return.
  3. Have an earned working income exceeding $3,000.

Calculation of Advanced Payments

The CRA determines your ACWB entitlement based on:

  • Marital status and family situation.
  • Adjusted family net income.
  • Eligibility for the disability tax credit.

Eligible recipients receive up to 50% of their annual CWB entitlement in advanced payments. Any remaining entitlement will be paid during tax filing.
