Snowy Start to the Week for London and Surrounding Areas

The London area is bracing for a frigid and snowy beginning to the week, following a weekend of messy weather for parts of Midwestern Ontario.

Monday: A Cold and Snowy Night Ahead

According to CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, temperatures on Monday afternoon will range between -8°C and -12°C, but the wind chill will make it feel much colder.

“Temperatures this afternoon, hovering between minus 8 and minus 12,” Atchison said. “And it feels a whole lot colder than that.”

Overnight, skies will remain cloudy, and flurries are expected to begin after midnight. Temperatures will drop to -7°C, with wind chill making it feel closer to -14°C.

“This will be a lake-effect snow coming downwind of Lake Huron,” Atchison added.

Tuesday: Flurries and Blowing Snow

Tuesday will bring more snow to the London area, with flurries expected throughout the day and blowing snow in the afternoon. Local snowfall amounts are predicted to range between 2 to 4 cm. Winds will blow from the northwest at speeds of up to 50 km/h, creating a wind chill near -13°C.

Tuesday night could see snow squalls continuing into Wednesday, with a low of -9°C.
