Tesla Restores Original Foundation Series Cybertruck Pricing in Canada

Tesla Restores Original Foundation Series Cybertruck Pricing in Canada

Tesla has made a swift pricing adjustment to its Foundation Series Cybertruck in Canada, retracting a recent price increase that took place just a day earlier. The unexpected hike, which had bumped up the prices of the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Cyberbeast variants by $16,000, has now been reversed. However, there remains some lingering confusion about whether or not lifetime Premium Connectivity is still part of the package.

When the Foundation Series Cybertruck was first introduced in Canada, the AWD model was priced at $137,990, and the Cyberbeast was listed at $165,990. But Tesla briefly raised these prices on Monday, introducing additional charges for features that had previously been bundled in with the vehicle’s base price.

Under the new pricing, the AWD model saw an increase of 11.5%, climbing to $153,990, while the Cyberbeast’s price surged by 9.6%, reaching $181,990 CAD. Tesla introduced separate fees for two key features: 20″ Cyber Wheels, which now cost an extra $5,000, and Full Self-Driving (FSD), which is now priced at $11,000. These were once included in the Foundation Series package, contributing to the higher overall cost.

However, just a day later, Tesla updated its website once more, restoring the original pricing structure for the Foundation Series Cybertruck. The reason behind this swift adjustment is still unclear, though it appears that the price increase may have been intentional, given the specificity of the additional charges for wheels and FSD.

Despite the price rollback, confusion persists regarding the inclusion of lifetime Premium Connectivity. While the individual listing cards on Tesla’s inventory website indicate that this feature is included, the order process reveals a different story. Buyers who proceed through the purchase steps are shown that they will only receive a one-year trial of Premium Connectivity, which provides access to features such as live traffic visualization, satellite maps, in-car video streaming, and music services.
