Eligibility Criteria
You qualify for the CCR if you meet all the following conditions at the beginning of the payment month:
- Residency:
- You must be a resident of Canada in the month before the payment.
- You reside in one of the applicable provinces:
- Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan.
- Age:
- At least 19 years old in the month before the CRA makes the payment.
- Under 19 if you meet at least one of the following:
- Have a spouse or common-law partner.
- Are a parent living with your child?
- Child Eligibility:
If you have children, the CCR includes a credit for each eligible child if they meet these conditions:- Under 19 years of age.
- Reside with you.
- Are registered for the CCR (or previously registered for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) or GST/HST credit).
- If custody is shared, each parent receives 50% of the amount they would receive if the child resided with them full-time.

Provinces Excluded from Canada Carbon Rebate
The CCR does not apply to British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, or Yukon, as these regions have their carbon pricing mechanisms.
