From March 11, 2025, at 2 PM AEDT, eligible workers and sole traders can submit claims through myGov for up to 13 weeks of financial support under the Centrelink cyclone payment scheme.
Who Can Apply for the Centrelink Cyclone Payment?
To qualify for the Centrelink cyclone payment, you must:
✔ Have lost income due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred
✔ Live or work in one of the 31 affected areas in Queensland or New South Wales
✔ Be 16 years or older
✔ Have an income that falls below the Australian weekly average

The Centrelink cyclone payment is paid fortnightly based on the JobSeeker or Youth Allowance rate, depending on personal circumstances.
