Who Can Apply for the Grant?
To qualify, you must meet seven key conditions:
✔ The property must have been vacant for at least two years before applying.
✔ The property must have been built before 2008 (previously 1993 before May 2023).
✔ You must own or be in the process of buying the property.
✔ The property must become your primary residence or be made available for rent.
✔ You must have tax clearance from Revenue, ensuring your tax affairs are in order.
✔ If applicable, you must have paid your Local Property Tax.
✔ You cannot be a registered company or property developer.
How Much Can You Claim?
🏚 Up to €50,000 for renovating a vacant property.
🏚 Up to €70,000 for a derelict property.
🏝 Up to €60,000 for a vacant property on an off-shore island.
🏝 Up to €84,000 for a derelict property on an off-shore island (includes a 20% increase on standard grant amounts).
These amounts include VAT and were increased on 1 May 2023. If you applied before this date and haven’t received your grant yet, you can still receive the higher amount.
