CRA to Host Free Webinar for International Students

CRA to Host Free Webinar for International Students

On November 27, 2024, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is hosting a free webinar specifically designed for international students in Canada. This event will cover crucial topics related to taxes, benefits, and credits that students may be eligible for. Understanding how to file taxes is not only a legal requirement, but it can also help students claim tax benefits and credits worth thousands of dollars.

Why Filing Taxes is Important for International Students

International students in Canada are legally required to file a tax return, even if they do not earn an income. Additionally, students who are transitioning to permanent residency (PR) may need to file taxes to meet the criteria for future applications. However, the benefits of filing go beyond compliance: students may be eligible for various tax credits and financial assistance, which can add up to significant sums.
