Get $600 One Time Heat Rebate in Nova Scotia: Apply Now for the 2024-2025 Season

If you’re a low or modest-income Nova Scotian struggling with the cost of home heating, you’re in luck! The province’s Heating Assistance Rebate Program (HARP) is offering eligible households a rebate of $600 to help with the cost of heating their homes. The program covers various heating sources, including oil, electricity, natural gas, wood, wood pellets, and coal.

How to Qualify for the $600 Rebate

To be eligible for the Heating Assistance Rebate, you must meet one of the following criteria based on your 2023 net income and living situation:

  1. Single Homeowners: If you live alone with no dependents and your 2023 net income is $55,000 or less, you can qualify.
  2. Households with Dependents: If your combined household income is $75,000 or less and you live with children, dependents, or other adults, you are eligible for the rebate.
  3. Income Assistance Recipients: If you are receiving Income Assistance through the Department of Community Services, you can apply for this rebate.
  4. Senior Citizens: If you are receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) or the Allowance from Service Canada, you qualify for the rebate.

Additionally, if your personal or financial circumstances have changed since last year (e.g., becoming widowed, losing a job, or gaining custody of children), you may still be eligible for the rebate.
